Pre-Course Set Up

There are three tasks to complete in order to enroll in the course:

Create Your Own Blog


For our class you will be required to establish your own blog. Each week you publish two posts based on the reading. It is also expected you will read and comment on each other’s work.

There are many free blogging platforms out there. You can use Tumblr, Blogger, or WordPress. These will suffice.

I recommend you invest in your own domain and self-hosting. You can use Reclaim Hosting. Then you can register a domain and start your own WordPress or Tumblr site.

Already have a blog or class website? No problem. You can use it for class.

Class Stream

We will be using Known as a private social network for class. This will serve as our class stream. You will share all your work, respond to to prompts, and hang out.

You will need to join the website. Once a member you can publish status updates or posts. Join the site, update your profile, and write a post telling us why you are here.

We will be annotating the reading together. We will use This allows you to highlight, comment, add images, and videos. You can then comment on the annotations of others.
